Morning Lift / Small Rant

Thoughts on others' odd behavior today...Or my little rant: 

That guy who is jumping rope in the middle of the bench/dumbbell area... Really? Weird spot dude. Take it to the open space.

Also...the guy who is always deadlifting in front of the squat rack right when I need to squat. Same thing. I know there isn't really a good spot in this particular gym for deadlifts, but right at the squat rack isn't the best choice when there is only one squat rack, enough bars to go around, and plenty of other open space with mirror views you could use for deadlifting. He's been polite enough when I ask if it's okay for me to use the rack...but he also thought it was fine to use this as a "work-in" situation, and didn't move his bar. So I was essentially squatting with my rear headed into his deadlifting space. Granted he wasn't deadlifting at the moment (or he would have been doing it directly behind me, facing my backside) but you'd think he would just move away altogether recognizing he's messing up the squat rack area. People are weird.

And finally...multiple dudes who think it's okay to block the actual dumbbell rack while lifting. Every time I lift I encounter several. I do NOT get that! Why would you possibly think it's okay to lift directly over the rack and not leave space for others to get the weights you aren't using? I am always polite, but not afraid to excuse myself as I dart in for a weight. Lame-ness. (These types clearly don't think everything through, because they seem to be those who also skip leg day.)

This week's workouts

Did well getting to the gym this week. Moved to 2 day split four times a week (Jim Stoppani's beginner-intermediate workout phase II).  On my way now for day 4 of this week. Here are my journals from the last few lifts. Work has been busy so I didn't post in real time. :-)
I have no idea if these are even the right order due to posting from my phone.

Weekend Lift

I think it is time to move to splits again. Will see if I can outline a schedule before the next lift.
Today's workout was solid. Nothing special but pushed enough while keeping form. Wanted to go yesterday but screwed up my schedule not realizing Saturday is also an early close day for my gym. Lame. Oh well...got there today!

Morning Lift

Weird lift today. Not bad just kind of mentally all over the place. You know it'll be odd when you skip most of the Judas Priest and settle on Moody Blues or Nickel Creek. I should probably make a few actual playlists and start using my phone rather than my increasingly outdated iPod shuffle...but add that to the list of things I will talk about for 3 months before actually doing.
And why do people use a small locker and then leave their giant bag on the bench while they are gone. Um, that's what the lockers are for. If u aren't even going to unpack it then stuff it in so you don't hog the bench.
Also wondering if I should try an alternative to pp pre-w/o. Mine is so sweet it kinda makes me sick to my stomach.

Random: What NOT to do.

Sooo ....posting from my phone again. Crazy nuts day at work in that I had several mtgs...planned and impromptu with no time to get any real work done...tho I was somewhat prepared for meals I simply did not make time for them in the chaos. Came up for air at 4:30 to realize my half eaten bowl of oatmeal and berries was sitting on my desk which is all I had eaten all day along with 2 cups of coffee. Not good. This wasn't a lift day thank goodness or I never would have made it. Aaaaaaa!

Morning Lift

Up 15 mins earlier and made all the difference in timing at the gym for shower etc. Felt kinda sick to my stomach mid lift, which might be from super sweet pre w/o pp mix and aminos. 35 bb on squats again and this was the first time I did not want to cry during those and made it to 12 reps which means, of course, it's time to move up on those. I frikkin hate squats, but I am getting them done A2G and good form. Bleh.
